Creek House Dim Sum Reopens After Addressing Severe Health Violations

Creek House Dim Sum, a popular eatery in Walnut Creek, was temporarily shut down by health inspectors last Thursday after numerous health violations were found. The Contra Costa County Environmental Health Department discovered over 200 rodent droppings scattered throughout the restaurant, including in food preparation and storage areas. Additionally, raw shrimp was found stored on the kitchen floor at an unsafe temperature of 50-55°F, well above the required 41°F.

The violations were widespread, with rodent droppings found under the ware washing machine, on food containers near the dish machine, on the prep table shelves, and even on top of the dim sum refrigerator. Further droppings were found on the hood shelf, in the storage room, along the main kitchen prep area walking path, and in the mop sink room. Notably, over 50 droppings were discovered under the grill/cook line area. Read More…
